About Me (The "Barbershop"!)

Greetings from the Barbershop! Let me share a bit about myself with you… First of all, it's important to know what the "Barbershop" name means. Well, Barber is my last name, and some of my friends call me "Barbershop" as my nickname. When it came time to give my blog a title, I thought it'd be fun to use this nickname even though in the most typical barbershop environment, not a whole lot of baking or cooking goes on there... But it does in my Barbershop! :)

When I'm not creating yummy recipes in the kitchen, I work in a research setting at a medical center in Boston as a vocational rehabilitation specialist. One of my favorite hobbies is spending quality time with my family and friends, most of whom live in New England. I just love the Northeast and couldn’t ever imagine myself living anywhere else! I love to keep active and busy…you may find me hanging out with friends, hiking, running, playing field hockey, brewing beer, and traveling all over New England; these are some of my favorite ways to pass the time and stay happy and healthy!

As you may guess from this blog, BAKING is one of my all-time favorite hobbies. I am very happy to have this avenue of the blog to share many of the recipes I make with all of you. :) My wish is that my blog posts will make you smile, make you hungry, and make you want to bake too! I hope that some of my passion and excitement about baking and cooking comes through in my writing, and I invite you to continue visiting the Barbershop often. Thanks for stopping by!

Here I am, the Barbershop, at the King Arthur Flour store in Vermont showing how excited I am about cookie cutters!

My wonderful HUSBAND and me! We were married on November 3rd, 2012. ♥

Since our wedding, I've had several people ask me if I'm going to change the name of my blog (as I am changing my last name to my husband's). However, the blog name will remain the same! For 30 years my last name has been Barber, and my nickname of Barbershop is one that I love... So, "What's Baking in the Barbershop?!" is here to stay. :)

Thanks again for stopping by the Barbershop - I hope you return often!!
